TNNA Summer Show 2019 Recap

TNNA Summer Show 2019 Recap

This past weekend we attended the TNNA Summer Show in Cleveland, Ohio and were delighted to see old friends, meet new ones, and get a sneak peek of what’s coming in the fall! Today we’ll share with you a few of the things we found!

Our Craft Clients

First of all, we’d be remiss not to show you the lovely new offerings from our clients. Appalachian Baby Design debuted its new Savannah Wrap, an elegant shawl perfect for everything from a summer wrap to a nursing shawl. They also shared a fun Christmas stocking collection coming this fall! Knitter’s Pride is introducing new needles for the fall, the Smart Stix collection. This line boasts everything from DPNs to fixed circulars to interchangeable needle sets, and each needle is marked every inch so you’ll never have trouble measuring swatches again! They’re also adding to the popular row counter ring line with a Rainbow Row Counter! JUL Designs, designer of shawl pins and leather accessories to tame your knitting has a whole new line of leather shawl cuffs as well as these gorgeous new Rosewood and white brass shawl pins that aren’t even named yet! And Manos del Uruguay has done it again, introducing two new beautiful yarn lines: Bocados, 25g mini-skeins of their popular Alegria Grande yarn (patterns for the mini-skeins will be debuting this fall!), and Alma. We also had the opportunity to visit with Brown Sheep and they shared their new fall colors with us!

New to Us

As always, there were some new vendors we enjoyed meeting!

We fell in love with Felted Sky Studio, a new company selling felting supplies and kits. Owner Elizabeth creates each of the artistic kits herself. We were blown away by her gorgeous landscapes. And she’s got video tutorials on her site to support each of the kits!

Emma’s Yarn and the owners, sisters Emma and Esme Dobratz, were recently featured in Yarn Market Magazine. At 17, Emma is running a successful yarn dying business and is already attending her second TNNA! Her booth was full of beautiful yarns and we’re so pleased to see her doing well. If you want to learn a little more about Emma, we found this wonderful interview with GGMadeIt from last year!

New Products from Old Favorites

We also found lots of new products from our favorite vendors. Blue Sky Fibers introduced their new line of Printed Organic Cotton. This new line is created by stamping the cotton with ink which means each skein is unique! Blue Sky’s 100% certified organic cotton has gotten even better!

We were intrigued by the Half-Speckled dying style pioneered by The Fiber Seed. Skeins are dyed half solid, and half speckled to facilitate planned pooling knits like the Depth Cowl and Depth Hat by Talitha Kuomi. Booth samples also included Magpie Tendency and the brand new Mini Magpie by Melissa Alexander-Loomis.

We hope you’ve enjoyed seeing a bit of what we saw at the show!
